The education sector is under pressure as the world economy increasingly demands higher levels of skills and knowledge. To meet this demand, the education sector is turning to technology – specifically, ‘edtech’.
Edtech is shorthand for ‘educational technology’ and refers to the use of technology in education. Edtech covers a wide range of tools and platforms, from simple apps to complex learning management systems. It is also used to deliver online courses and create virtual classrooms.
The use of edtech is growing rapidly. It is estimated that the global edtech market will be worth $252 billion by 2022. This growth is being driven by the need to improve educational outcomes and meet the demands of the global economy.
We were thrilled to collaborate with zSpace, a Silicon Valley hardware maker, to create classroom contents for their platform. The project was a fun and educational experience, and we were able to showcase our skills in both academic and creative areas. In addition to the more traditional content showcased on our main website, zSpace also asked us to design some cute characters and sets. We hope you enjoy the samples below!
The Western Diorama Set-
The Hero-
The Villain-
The camera prop was built to spec., before it was simplified and then stylized.
In the video below, you can see how all the assembled pieces came together...
The Medieval Diorama Set-
A short video of the Medieval Set in action. A special shout out to our talented concept artist Ly Nguyen for the beautiful work she did on the background matte paintings, and the building facades. :)
Edtech is reshaping the educational landscape in multiple ways around the world. One of the most notable changes is the increased emphasis on self-directed learning. With edtech tools, students can take charge of their education more easily, as they have greater access to resources and personalized instruction online.
Edtech also encourages collaboration amongst students, instructors, and administrators, as it provides tools for them to connect and share resources. For example, online tools such as video conferencing and messaging apps allow for remote learning and virtual classrooms, facilitating connectedness in online learning environments.
Finally, edtech has the potential to make education more equitable, giving all students equal access to resources and instruction. Edtech provides students with personalized learning experiences and allows teachers to tailor their instruction to the specific needs of their students. This can help bridge educational gaps and give all students more equal access to quality education.
